Is child disenfranchisement justified?

Children are among the few social groups that systematically and universally disenfranchised. Although children citizens worthy of equal moral treatment rights, their right to vote is restricted in almost all states, this seen as legitimate by most democratic theories. What particular about childhood justifies restriction vote? How can systems legitimise exclusion a section citizenry? This article provides critical analysis principles ground child disenfranchisement, allocative mechanisms proposed for restricting vote. It shows arguments favour disenfranchisement unsatisfactory, they inconsistently used target population (but not other groups) or incompatible with commitment equality. Among only those appeal political incompetence may be valid excluding children. Regarding method exclusion, age thresholds cannot justified restrict franchise, that, while competence tests fare better theory, there issues implementation. The contributes providing clear systematic core conditions must met justify such practice.
